Protest tips from a South Korean

South Korea recently ousted their President. Here are some tips from a South Korean:

  • Arrest the leader’s underlings first. Once you gut the henchmen, there is no one for the leader to call on

  • Know and learn your history so you understand it is the struggle of all people

  • Be ready already because it’s happening already

  • If Martial Law is declared, some military and police will refuse to follow orders

  • Make large demonstrations scheduled, organized and accessible

  • Include people before the protest; provide information, maps, etc. and keep them constantly updated

  • Make sure everyone feels included before and during the demonstration; the Korean people would go around to local shops and buy coffee, tea, food and share it with other demonstrators for free

  • Make tons of extra signs to make sure everyone has a sign

  • Don’t regard protesting as a single event, it is a way of life; we are always in protest whether or not we are at protests
