Dear Democrats,
Two events this week celebrating the life of John Lewis and carrying on his legacy. The first is a screening on Thursday at the Austin Heights Church of the film “John Lewis: Good Trouble” exploring his 60 years of social activism and legislative action on civil rights, voting rights, gun control, health care reform, and immigration. Then we will reconvene that evening at the Courthouse where the Light Brigade will lead us in protest against the attacks on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration.
Upcoming events in the next few weeks
1. The Nacogdoches County Democratic Party will meet on Monday, July 14, in the Courthouse Annex, 203 West Main Street. The Executive Committee will meet at 5:30pm. This will be followed at about 6:00pm by the general monthly meeting. Bring non-perishable food items to help HOPE help food insecure folks in our community.
2. The 21/7 Association will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 15, at noon at Cypress Ridge, 2701 Logan Circle. We will vote on officers for the next year. Contact Nancy Niehaus for more information.
